Discovery DJ & Lighting

We had Jim Weisz as the DJ for my daughter's wedding and he was fantastic! He played all the songs that we wanted and also played requests from the crowd. He watched which songs the crowd danced to, and made sure that he played more of that type of music. Everyone danced all night until the end of the reception. My daughter was having so much fun that she didn't want to stop the dancing to throw her bouquet! Everyone said that it was the best reception that they had ever attended. He made it a wonderful evening!

According to NUMEROUS wedding guests, this was the best DJ anyone has heard. It was the greatest music selection that one could ask for. He kept the dance floor packed with over 100 people most of the night because of his collection and order for music. Plus, he had great ideas for making the most of our night (music, timing and keeping us on track). I would not want my friends to consider anyone else if Discovery DJ's has availability.

I wish I could give Jim and Discovery DJ more than five stars! Throughout the planning process Jim was very helpful and his online resources and planning tools are amazing. Jim did our ceremony and reception music and lighting for our reception. In such a unique space like the Cotton Mill, lighting really put the look above and beyond what we could have expected. At our reception, Jim was great with his timeline. He kept us on point and organized so that we were able to do everything we needed to but still felt as though we didnt miss a moment of the wedding. Also he was very respectful of our wedding music choices and he did a great job building on the momentum of the event to a great climax to the night. Discovery DJ was wonderful, couldn't have asked for more!

Jim is EXCELLENT. He is extremely organized. We wanted a DJ that wouldn't try to steal the show with awful jokes and he didn't. He has a great website where you can upload all the music you want and the music you DO NOT want and he knows how to read the crowd and cater to them. I highly recommend his services!

My wife and I were extremely lucky to have found Discovery when searching for the perfect DJ. This was the ONLY company we interviewed. We were that impressed. We not only used Discovery for the reception, but also for the ceremony music. I honestly believe that selecting the correct DJ is one of the top 3 single decisions when it comes to making or breaking a wedding. Jim was absolutely the best to work with during the pre-wedding planning phase. He brought up things we hadn't even thought of, helping us make decisions based on his vast experience. During the reception, he is able to instantly read the mood of the group and adapt accordingly. We chose the full package including the uplighting which made a world of difference. Because of the festive nature of the wedding being on St. Patricks Day, this only made the environment that much more special. Jim is an absolutely professional, offering up service above and beyond what is expected at a great value. If you are in search of that perfect DJ, whether Discovery is your first or one of the last companies you are interviewing, it should be the one you choose.

Jim did such a great job with our wedding. He was so responsive during the planning of our wedding and completely professional. His online planning system was fun and easy to use, and made me feel like the process was very organized. I would definitely recommend Discovery DJs!

It was such a pleaseure to work with Discovery DJs! Jim did an excellent job of translating our more casual, eclectic style into a very fun reception, while still maintaining the formalities and pleasing my more conservative family. Jim was incredibly accommodating through the planning process, his flexibility was invaluable. He is very professional and our reception was a huge hit because of him. I knew that I would not have a thing to worry about that night with Jim in charge.

Very easy to work with and our wedding reception looked beautiful!

Jim is truly a professional and wonderful at what he does. We met with him about 8 months before the wedding, and from our first meeting, he was extremely organized. You could tell he is awesome at what he does, which is one of the reasons we chose him. We knew that a great DJ can either make or break a reception and the amount of fun had by all. His website makes it very easy to create playlists and organize the night. We met with him closer to the wedding to go over everything, and I loved knowing that he had everything down perfectly so I didn't have to worry about a thing! The night of the wedding, he really knew how to get the crowd dancing. From the time the music started, to the time our reception was over 2 hours later, the dance floor was PACKED. There was never a moment where there was a 'mass exodus' of people when a certain song comes on like there are at a lot of weddings I've been to. My husband, parents, and I are still receiving compliments on what a great PARTY our reception was, and we owe it all to Jim! I recommend Jim with 5 stars! He is definitely worth the money- you won't regret it!

Jim was really great to work with! We knew from the first meeting that he would be great to work with because he is easy going, personable, professional and has the experence in DJing. He had great suggestions so we felt completely confident in giving Jim free reign for what to play. We knew that he would get the crowd dancing and keep them dancing throughout the night! Oh my... I wish I could think of something to add that has not already been said as I couldn't agree more with all that has been said about Jim. My husband and I met Jim several months our and knew right away he was "good people." He is professional, talented, friendly, and leaves you with the feeling of true contentment as well as excitement for the big day. If you want to remove music from your list of things to worry or even think about, then hire Discovery DJs. Jim's website makes it fun and super convenient to customize your music to whatever extent you'd like. But, know, that if you leave any of it up to Jim's excpertise then you're completely covered as well. Jim provided music for both my outdoor ceremony and my reception (same venue). Both areas were set up ahead of time and ready to go. Although most blogs I read said dancing was not usually in the cards for a brunch reception, our fabulous music selection (rat pack like oldies) had everyone dancing at a consistant rate. And, as another reviewer stated, there was never a song played that raised eyebrows or decreased participation on the dance floor! We had a blast! Honestly, with so much to plan for, knowing that I did not have to worry about anything regarding our DJ selection and music was the biggest gift a girl could ask for during such a busy time! Discovery DJ made our reception as fun as we envisioned it to be. Jim was very flexible and professional from day one meeting him. We loved his online music forms and planning forms for the wedding. DJ Jim is very organized which was very reassuring with everything going on for our wedding, we knew he had his part together. He showed up early, set up, the extra up lighting was a very cool touch, he knew how to keep the party going and keep all the guests up on the dance floor!! thank you again Jim, we loved our reception.

Jim was fantastic to work with and provided excellent services for my daughter's reception. He has a great website with interactive tools that allow the bride and groom to pick out and customize their music. Jim worked with us personally prior to the reception and viewed the room and determined the appropriate amount of lighting needed. He provided color coordinated up lighting and during the dance he provided dance floor lights for a fun environment. He handled all the announcements professionally and worked very well with the photographer. He read the crowd well and kept the dance floor hopping. I would definitely recommend Jim and if I ever needed a D.J. again, I would hire him again.

Jim was exactly what we hoped for in a DJ at our daughter's wedding reception. His extensive website planning allowed the Bride & Groom to choose the music they wanted for the evening, plan the timing of those special songs that were meaningful to them and their guests, and he was flexible in every way to be sure it was their special night! His announcements were all brief and to the point and very professional, and he kept the night flowing beautifully! So much fun! Thanks, Jim....it was a truly memorable night!

Jim was great about keeping the night rolling and checking in with me throughout the night to keep us updated about the timeline or any last minute changes. It's less stress to know someone else is handling those things!

One of my favorite vendors I worked with during my wedding!!! Not only does Jim's website provide the convenience I needed during planning with lists of music, but also Jim's professional nature and knowledge made this the easiest part of our big day. Jim met with me several times before our actual ceremony and made sure everything was just as I had envisioned. He is a true professional and was a pleasure to work with. He did my ceremony music, reception music, and lighting. I would not have changed a single thing! My husband and I both recommend him to anyone having an event!!

Jim was wonderful! I was very scatterbrained and a bit of a procrastinator but everything worked out so great. He was extremely flexible, very detailed, and down to earth!
