Colleens Cakes

My husband and I had a very short engagement (less than 3 months) I had completely forgot about the cake until about a month before. She had no problem getting us in and helping out in that part. I had tried this cake at my friends wedding and it was amazing so I made an appointment. The tasting went well she is super sweet and has great customer service. I loved that she will allow you to have each tier a different cake flavor (a bonus because we did not want a grooms cake). Howerever, at my wedding I felt like there was so much icing. The cake was amazing but there was more icing then cake. I do not remeber this happening at my friends wedding but I may of not been paying attention. Everyone said it was amazing though. Another bonus about her is she makes you a top tier seperately so you are able to eat it while you are on your honeymoon or when you return. This was amazing. Perfect amout of icing making me wonder if my cake was a oooppppsss ( which you have to understand do happen) The prices are amazing as well!!! And I loved the design. I actually was very shakey on what I wanted so I brought a few pictures and she was able to help me. She knows brides and are able to get what you want out of you. She is amazing and so is her cakes.

We heard nothing but rave reviews from everyone about the cake, which normally isn't the first comment. From the flawless design to the devine flavors of both our wedding cake and groom's cake - we couldn't have been more thrilled. We aren't going to bother waiting for our one year to have the topper - we're busting it open tonight and enjoying it as our reward from coming back from Jamaica. Thanks Colleen!!

The cupcakes were marvelous. Everyone thought they were a huge hit and fun to have for the wedding.

Let me start this by saying that I am a true cake fanatic and when I tasted Colleen's cakes, I wanted to do a back flip!!! Me and my wedding planner left with a box of cupcakes to taste later, as we couldn't decide on just a few flavors....THEY WERE ALL SO GOOD!!!!!!!!! My wedding was almost a month ago and I am STILL getting inquires about where did we get our wedding and groom's cakes from! People went back for three and four slices, we did not have any left other than what Colleen makes sure to give you to have later. She was a joy to work with, very responsive to my emaills, and created exactly what I envisioned the cakes to look like on the big day! Hats off Colleen, you did a fabulous job!

We met with Colleen at her home and made us feel comfortable right off the bat. She presented like 14 mini cakes for us to taste and it was a hard decision to pick what flavor to use for the wedding because they all tasted so good! Her cakes are delicious! The wedding cake and groom's cake she put together for the wedding looked so beautful. It exceeded our expectations! My favorite was lemon blackberry!

The cake was ABSOLUTELY gorgeous and looked exactly the way we had asked it to look. Colleen is not only a fabulous baker but a true artist in her creation. So many wonderful comments about the cake-the only bad thing is I didn't get to eat much of it because it was such a hit! The true compliment to a great cake-nothing left! The chocolate covered strawberries were a big hit also! Thank you. We were so lucky to have found you and I have referred so many people to you already.

I guess I should start by saying that I've never been too much of a wedding cake kinda' girl. You know, the spongy, cement-textured, bland tasting creations from all the weddings... before ours!! I was referred to Colleen by my best friend, Morgan, who couldn't say enough about her! Now I'm that girl who can't say enough about Colleen and her cakes! I've referred her to every Bride I know and will continue to refer her! From the cake tasting (which actually turned out to be TWO cake tastings since we had such a long engagement) to the "I can't decide on what the Groom's cake should look like so here is one idea...no scratch that...we want this instead" ;) To the wedding day the only word that comes to mind is Perfection! My 5 layered cake was truly breathtaking and exactly what I had dreamed of. She even made a perfectly shaped coffee-flavored edible Starbucks cup with removable lid for the top of the Groom's Caramel Macchiato cake! Okay, okay, I'll stop now! Colleen, we LOVE your cake!!! :)

Colleen's Cakes is five-star all the way. Not only are her prices reasonable and the cakes absolutely delicious (she let us taste 13 different ones to start!) but she is extremely passionate about what she does. I haven't told her this yet...but I actually teared up when I walked into the reception ballroom right before the ceremony started and got a peek of the cakes. My wedding cake was the MOST BEAUTIFUL cake I have seen in any photos. She took my simple (unorganized) vision and created a custom cake that was meant for me. I surprised my groom with a custom US Marshal cake that no one wanted to eat because it was a work of art!! I can't tell you how delicious and absolutely perfect everything was. You can't go wrong with Colleen for your cakes.

The cake was beautiful and so yummy! Colleen was amazing to work with and she’s such a sweet lady. I actually got a cheesecake from her for Bobby's birthday cake last year and he decided to do 2 cheesecakes for his groom’s cake. Those were delicious too. All of our guests were raving about the cake and cheesecake! Colleen is our go-to person for any baked goods from now on.

I absolutely LOVED Colleens Cakes!! She did a wedding cake and a grooms cake for our wedding and they were SO good and SO gorgeous!!! Colleen is so great and she did a fantastic job! I have already recommended her to everyone I know and will use her anytime that I have any need for a cake!

My daughter's wedding was a year ago and still I love Colleen! I have used her for a number of things across the past couple of years. I live in Arlington and drive to Keller to pick stuff up from her because she's the best! I have never ever tasted a better cake! I don't know how she does it. Most wedding cakes are dry. I want to scream from the mountain top about Colleen's Cakes. She's making me some themed cupcakes for my Bachelor Finale Watch party! Can't wait. Thanks Colleen.

I found Colleen online amidst a massive amount of "oh this is fantastic" reviews. I had gone to a few other tastings before contacting Colleen, and I must say that the places I went before (not to be named) were not even half as great as Colleen. We had a dinosaur theme wedding and not only was she entirely open to the concept, she offered ideas on how to take it and run with it. The tasting went amazing. I wanted to have a huge cake with a layer of each flavor because they were just that fantastic. She assured me that the cake would arrive in perfect condition and taste exactly the same as her tastings. Well, she showed up on time with my cake and I could not believe how fantastic it was. Not only was it just what I imagined, it was perfect for our theme and not to mention way under what we assumed the budget would be. I will certainly be ordering more cakes from this woman. I cannot say enough fantastic things about her. Be sure to give her a try for your upcoming wedding or even just for fun. You surely won't be disappointed!

Colleen was TERRIFIC! I absolutely love her. Her cakes are beautiful and delicious. What stands Colleen out from her competition is her personality. She has a sweet and bubbly personality that will make you leave your stress at the door. The cake she created for me was absolutely perfect. It was gorgeous. All of my guests were raving about how good it tasted. If you are in the dfw area please look her up. She is one in a trillion.

I hate to repeat what so many have said, but you need to know that these raves are not all bogus reviews written by the same person! Heh. Colleen really is as personable and professional as everyone says. She supplies generous free samples when you go to her home, which is much appreciated so those not able to be there may taste them and register their feedback. Her prices are reasonable, her followup is good; and best of all, her cakes are moist, lovely, and so flavorful! We went with a 3 layer of key lime mousse (words are inadequate:), apple ginger spice and carrot cake. You may, of course, just use one flavor. She supplies an extra small cake for the bride and groom to savor on their first anniversary or much sooner at no additional cost. The cake she provided was exactly like the photo I gave her. She anchored the 2 lb. fragile (snow globe) topper beautifully. I knew the reception was going to be magnificent when the first thing I saw entering the ballroom was this wonderful cake. I nearly gasped! Please do yourself a favor and give her a call. You will quickly cross one thing off the lengthy wedding \"to do\" list.

We were so happy with our wedding cake that Colleen did for our wedding in December! My husband wanted chocolate chip cookies instead of a groom's cake and she was more than accomodating to his idea. We had many compliments on the appearance and taste of our cake and would highly recommend Colleen's Cakes to anyone who is planning a wedding....or anyone who wants a delicious cake for no reason at all. :)

Wow - what magnificent cakes!!! Not only were the bride and groom cakes beautiful works of art, they actually tasted divine! We are still getting compliments about how wonderful they were. Colleen was personable and lovely, while maintaining a professional demeanor. My husband I knew as soon as we talked to her and tasted her delicious cakes that we were in the right place. She also made us an individual cake to eat after the wedding. We will be going back to her for special event cakes in the future. Her prices were better than a lot of the 'big name' bakeries and her cakes were so much more delicious! I could go on and on. Thanks again for helping to make our special day perfect!

Colleen was extremely professional as well as very flexible with a difficult schedule. She meet us on a Sunday for the tasting as all of the cakes were delicious.

Colleen was an absolute pleasure to work with. Her work is amazing, and I couldn't have asked for a better person to do my wedding cake and the groom's cake. She is fun, energetic, unique, and creative, and I have been referring her to everyone I know. I even used her for my bridal shower!
