One caveat - by the time I visited Alfred Angelo, my wedding date was only about four months away BUT I think they have tons of room for improvement.
Dress selection:
The reason I was shopping for a gown so close to my wedding date is because I had tried on many dresses but had not found anything I was happy with yet. I found THREE dresses that I loved at Alfred Angelo so I can certainly say that they have an excellent gown selection at very reasonable prices.
Problem areas:
First, they refused to schedule me during their busier times (Refused to schedule me on a Saturday) despite my quickly approaching wedding.
Second, I tried to order the dress I wanted in a petite but the salesperson (Alexis) told me that I shouldn't order a petite because I'd be too short and I'd have to pay for a second alteration. She was just flat wrong or lying. Of course the seamstress they recommend (who works IN their store) gave me a different line than the salesperson...
Third, I asked how much an alteration would be and was given a price quote. Later that same day I went to the store with my dress in hand for the alteration and I was suddenly quoted a Different/Higher price.
Fourth, I ended up paying extra to have my dress "rushed" after the salesperson's insistence but I really do not believe it was necessary since my wedding was not that close.
If you want a gorgeous gown, go with this store.
If you want to work with people who are professional, consistent, who don't try to rip you off, who are kind at all, and/or if you need alterations, go somewhere else.

I got my dress and a tiara from Alfred Angelo. They were both so beautiful! I went to Alfred Angelo, and when I walked in the store, my first thought was that all the dresses were so beautiful that I didn't think I could afford any of them. My plan was to try on some dresses, and try to find a similar style someplace else. They pulled several dresses for me to get started, some that I chose online and some that they picked based on what I said I was looking for. The first dress was a suggestion from the store that I hadn't seen online. I put it on and it was so beautiful. I didn't even ask the price because I assumed I couldn't afford it and didn't want to fall in love with something I couldn't have. I tried on about ten other dresses, then put the first one back on. It was so perfect, and so I had to ask about the price. It was less than half my allotted budget! I was so surprised and happy! Alfred Angelo has gorgeous dresses for affordable prices.

I LOVE my wedding dress! Although it was more than I wanted to spend, when I saw it, I had to have it!
When I originally ordered my dress, I was told that I needed a size 2 based on the measurements they did. When the 2 came it, it was too big and was going to have to have major alterations. I talked to the manager and she had me a size 0 in less than 2 weeks!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ALFRED ANGELO TO ANY BRIDE! The atmosphere at the one in Frisco is not the cheerful, helping one at which you would expect to find at the location where you are about to spend thousands on your wedding gown. The first time we stepped into the shop, we got a bad vibe when they said that we could not try on the gown I had seen in the brochure because they had appointments- BUT THERE WAS NO ONE IN THE STORE!! We came back the next day, and I liked the dress that I had originally had my eyes set on. I ordered the gown in a what I thought was a size four- rush shipping- which I did not need rush shipping because it arrived two weeks later and we basically wasted our money. When I tried on the size four- I was swimming in it!!! I am a size four all day everyday, any place I go- so I really am wondering if they make their gowns bigger so that you HAVE to pay to alter them. Also- when the gown came in, it look very cheap. The kind of cheap crystals from China that just made the dress look less expensive than it was. And it was WAY darker then the dress that I tried on in the store. I came back for my fitting about a month before the wedding, and since the gown had to be sized down, it was going to be around $600!!! That is not a hem of anything, just the top to be brought in! My dad was not about to pay OVER HALF of the gown's price in alterations. They were very rude to my father over the phone when he talked to them, and asked me to leave after they did... it was humiliating! I was too scared to go back in there myself to get the dress, so I made my dad pick it up. I just want to say Penny, the manager, is not nice at all. Christine- the lady who helped me try on the dress was nice, but everyone else in there was unprofessional and bitter- not the kind of service one should be receiving from a bridal salon. I ended up buying a new gown from Terry Costa in Plano- MUCH better service, and a better quality gown. Moral of the story- don't go to the Alfred Angelo in Frisco.

This was the first store I went to search for my dress at and found it within two hours. I had pre-shopped both online and in the store and had about 12 dressed picked to try on for the day. While all the dresses I put on were beautiful I was able to quickly narrow it down to my top 2 picks and ultimately my favorite pick. My dress consultant was and expert at helping me in the dresses and explaining the process to me.
My only complaint it the time it took to get my dress. It arrived two weeks late, which made it very close for alterations and my bridal portraits. The store made everything correct though by covering the rush fees on my alterations. So everything worked out just fine, but added a bit of stress to an already stressed bride.

As a little girl everyone dreams of the day they will try on wedding dresses. From the moment I stepped in everyone was sooo attentive and helped me out. I am glad they were there for what I thought I wanted was NOT what I ended up choosing. My dress was absolutely stunning and I would have never thought to try it on without the help of their staff. Thank you!!!

I was able to find my dream dress at this Alfred Angelo; and everything concerning the wedding gown, they did an amazing job on. However, my bridesmaids dresses and flower girl dresses were a whole other story. Many of my attendants lived out of town and out of country, so obtaining measurements were very difficult. Since the store was unable to take their own measurements, they ordered the dresses way WAY too big. When they came in, the fault was laid on me; since technically I had the final say on what was ordered. I was following their advice and expertise, and was quite frustrated when I had exact measurements from my girls that were blatantly disregarded. I had to have an outside seamstress fix two of the dresses a week before the wedding because Alfred Angelo would do nothing to help me. They had my money and were done with me. I will absolutely NEVER buy another thing from this store and advise future brides to steer clear.

My dress is beautiful, and good quality, but the hassle with dealing with arrival date was such a big hassle. I ordered the gown in late March/early April for my August wedding, and they assured me that they will get it in time for alterations. At first they said they will have it in by May. May comes along and I call and they said it will be here in the end of June. End of June comes along and they STILL don't have my gown. FINALLY it came in mid July. And then they have the alteration lady come in once a week only, and that week was full, so I would have to take the next appointment, which was third week of July, so in order for me to get it for my early August wedding, I would have to pay more to rush the alterations, when in the whole time they KNEW my wedding was August 8 and they kept on assuring me it will be here in time, but in the end, I would have to pull out lots of extra money in order to have it altered by them. But in a way I'm glad, because otherwise I wouldn't hav e met my seamstress.

I was upset that online they kept dresses that were discontinued, so when i went to look for my dress in the frisco location they didn't tell me the dress was discontinued and sent me to arlington to try on the dress i wanted, then from arlington i went back to the frisco location because i loved the dress and wanted to order it to the nearest store, and it wasn't till then that they told me the dress was discontinued. But the manager did make some calls and ultimately got my dress that i wanted.

I fell in love with my gown after trying several different gowns from several different vendors. I only wish the gown had come from a different store, or even a different location.
My first problem is the lack of communication. I had a bridesmaid who ordered her gown. She paid half of the price as a deposit to order the gown, which was not to arrive for several weeks. When her gown came in nobody contacted her until she received a message stating they were shipping her dress back if she didn't pick it up by a certain date. This particular bridesmaid was living out of state as a student and was unable to just stop by and pick up her dress. It wasn't supposed to be at the store until well after she was expected to move back into the area. I ended up having to make an emergency run to the store to prevent the dress from being returned and having to reorder and lose the deposit. I also ended up having to pay for the rest of the dress, which I did not mind but it was an unexpected expense for me. The store manager was not at all apologetic and was rude when I called to work things out.
My second problem was with the alterations. I had a problem with the alterations once they were maid. I tried to express my concerns with the woman who made the changes. She just kept saying she couldn't fix it and that it looked fine. When I tried to talk to the manager she didn't understand why I was upset and almost it tears. She thought it looked fine, but there were gigantic seams along the bust where it had been taken in and it was gaping under the arms where the halter came down. I had to arrange to take time off work and go to a different location which was not close to me in order to have all of the work redone. It was very stressful and I do not recommend the alterations to be done by their "experts".
That being said, the person who helped me pick out dresses and styles was great. She was friendly and helpful and knew just about every dress in the store. If I was able to deal with her for all of my needs I would have been much happier with my experience with this vendor. Good luck to future brides as you search for the perfect gown.

I first went to an Alfred Angelo in Dallas, and although I found the dress I wanted there, the service was horrible and the environment was very stressful (crowded, screaming kids, etc.) so I went to a different location to actually purchase the gown and have it fitted. The Alfred Angelo in Frisco is much more professional and friendly. Although these are not designer/top of the line gowns, there are some very beautiful and unique options for a really good price. I particularly like the large selection of dresses that have color in their design. The seamstress used by the Frisco location for alterations does a very good job and is also a great coach for teaching you how to put on and move around in your dress. Unfortunately she books up weeks in advance, and when my maid of honor needed further alterations a month before the wedding, we had to go somewhere else.
